The Mönchengladbach-based company SK UV Gele GmbH, one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality nail gels in Europe, is intensifying its focus on sustainability and joining the "commit for our planet" initiative. The highly regarded, industry-wide campaign was developed by the European trade association for the cosmetics and personal care industry, Cosmetics Europe, based in Brussels, Belgium.

Cosmetics Europe's sustainability initiative aims to reduce the environmental footprint of the cosmetics industry in Europe. "commit for our planet" addresses all companies in the industry, regardless of membership or size, to commit together to reduce CO2 emissions, improve packaging solutions and protect nature.

Cosmetics Europe will report transparently on an annual basis on the overall actions of the cosmetics industry in relation to the commitments to demonstrate impact and progress. As a new partner of the initiative, SK UV GELE joins the list of internationally renowned companies, including names such as: WALA, Weleda, Coty, Dalli Group, La Biosthétique, L'Occitane, L'Oréal, LVMH, Schwan-Cosmetics, Unilever and many others:

Nicole Simon, Managing Director SK UV Gele GmbH: "We are pleased to be part of this impressive project and to make our contribution to improved environmental sustainability in the cosmetics industry. Sustainability is a key objective for us. By locating our entire value chain in our own plant in Mönchengladbach, we pool resources, minimise transport routes and thus reduce our ecological footprint. The selection of sustainable raw materials is also one of the elements of our sustainable approach".

In Germany, the initiative is also supported by the "Beauty Care" competence partner in the German Cosmetic, Toiletry, Perfumery and Detergent Association (IKW) and the NATRUE quality seal.
